Throughout the year, Citizens for Safe Cycling visits a number of events to talk about cycling. Earlier this year we were at BikeFest, at MEC's bike day and, most recently, at Folkfest at Hog's Back Falls Park.
Board members and volunteer members talk with the public to hear about cycling issues and get feed back on how we are doing. We inform on proper cycling mannners, hand out brochures and point people to websites to find out more on cyling in Ottawa.
You can see our volunteer Karen at our booth in the Community Tent at the 2011 Ottawa Folk Festival. Karen works as a physiotherapist and can give you all kinds of tips on how to sit properly on a bike (put your weight in your bum, not in your wrists).
Behind all the informational posters is CfSC's bike trailer, which converts directly into a booth. We only need to pack brochures and off we go with our "mobile unit".
