1. Major cycling projects
Albert/Slater east/west cycling link
A: Yes, I support an east-west cycling link with dedicated bike lanes.

Cycling-pedestrian bridges:
A: Yes, I support building better linkages such as cycling-pedestrian bridges.

Ten Top cycling problems
A: Yes, I support fixing these problems. In particular, the Carling Avenue railway underpass between Moodie Drive and March Road (in my ward) is particularly hazardous to cyclists and must be fixed – this requires CN’s co-operation, though.

2. Completing the Ottawa Cycling Plan
A: I support making commitments to multi-year budgets to enable the Ottawa Cycling Plan to be implemented.

3. Integrating Cycling with Transit
A: I support putting bike racks on all buses (currently nearly half the fleet have bike racks).
A: I support having the new LRT cars carry bicycles.
A: I support ensuring that OC Transpo drivers are “bike friendly” and know how to share the road.

4. Police pro-cycling campaigns
A: I support having the Police Services Board implement these initiatives regarding bike theft, safe driving campaigns, and cycling safety campaigns.

5. More bike parking
A: I support providing more bike parking on our streets, and requiring businesses to provide this.

6. Keeping bike lanes snow-free
A: I support trying a pilot project on a commuter bike path to keep it snow-free during the winter, so to see if this attracts more cyclists.

7. Reinstate cycling safety and promotion programs
A:  I support re-instating cycling safety & education courses.
A: I support having free cycling maps for both residents and tourists.

8. Cyclist representation to the City
A: I support the establishment of a dedicated Cycling Advisory Committee to provide input into the development and implementation of cycling facilities and programs.

9. Let's measure up!
A: I support looking at best practices in other cities and seeing how we can emulate them here in Ottawa.

I support these initiatives because I cycle in Ottawa, in Gatineau Park, and (occasionally) in the Rideau Lakes Cycle Tour to Kingston and back. I want a cycle-friendly Ottawa!
