You can ride a Bixi in Ottawa-Gatineau.
On Monday, May 16, the National Capital Commission announced the locations for the Bixi bicycle-sharing stations in Ottawa-Gatineau, and the service was officially launched May 18.
Each station will have 10 bikes. The stations are located at:
Ottawa:
- Elgin and Queen streets, beside the National Arts Centre
- William and Rideau streets, in the ByWard Market
- Booth Street and Vimy Place, at the Canadian War Museum on the NCC bike-path network
- Lyon and Queen streets, close to the bike lane on Lyon
- O'Connor and Queen streets, beside World Exchange Plaza
- York and Dalhousie streets, in the ByWard Market
- Murray Street and Mackenzie Avenue, close to Major's Hill Park
Gatineau:
- Alexandre-Taché Boulevard and Montcalm Street, close to the NCC's bike-path network
- Des Allumettières Boulevard and Laurier Street, at the Canadian Museum of Civilization
- Promenade du Portage and Laval Street, near government buildings
