"Sir James" Wilson - March 2002 Volunteer of the month

James Wilson

Citizens for Safe Cycling is pleased to name James Wilson as volunteer of the month. James is a long-time member and volunteer with CfSC and other cycling organizations. In the month of March, James worked under a tight-timeframe to reformat our newly updated membership brochure. James used his creativity by employing stunning new fonts, using penny-farthing bicycles as bullets, and even added in some unicycles (around the text in the brochure, "Do you think cycling could be better?").

James added a beautiful watermark of a bicycle in the background, correcting the inaccuracies in the original design of the drawing. James also re-organized the entire brochure so that people can fill out the membership application, tear it off, and still have all the content information of the original brochure. Day by day, with volunteers like James, CfSC gets a little more sophisticated. Our updated brochure is ready for the 2002 cycling season.

With new members, CfSC gains a bigger pool of volunteers. We also gain more clout with the politicians who make many decisions that affect cycling. Let us know if you would like copies of the new brochure to pass on to your friends and fellow cyclists.

James helped CfSC in a big way, but this project required only a few days. It's work that wouldn't have gotten done as soon. Volunteering doesn't have to be a big commitment - but we always appreciate it in a big way! Thanks again, James, for a job well done!
