Ottawa, ON - Ottawa-Carleton is a great cycling city with over 300,000 residents who cycle. Your audience is interested in local cycling issues. You want to provide them with information that is factual, relevant and up-to-date. You want to call Citizens for Safe Cycling.
Who are we?
Active since 1984, Citizens for Safe Cycling (CfSC) is a non-profit community group dedicated to improving cycling conditions in Ottawa-Carleton. The Regional Municipality of Ottawa-Carleton (RMOC) Transportation Department contracts CfSC to run the Regional Cycling Safety and Promotion Program.
CfSC volunteers and staff provide cycling safety information to residents; produce public awareness campaigns aimed at reducing dangerous cyclist and motorist behaviours; promote cycling as a desirable form of transportation and help children learn how to cycle safely through school programs and cycling courses. We also teach the Canadian Cycling Association's CAN-BIKE program of skills courses for cyclists all ages and abilities.
What can we do for you?
CfSC has articulate, outgoing volunteers of all ages, interests and abilities who are active promoting proper commuting and recreational cycling in Ottawa-Carleton. CfSC also employs Gavin MacPhail, a full-time Cycling Safety and Promotion Coordinator with a wide range of cycling expertise. Gavin has a library of cycling research to draw on and is available for interviews at short notice or can effectively direct you to the best person you need to speak to.
